Quotes on Canada’s 5-year government bond yield are no longer displayed on Bloomberg.com.
Since bond yields usually precede changes in fixed mortgage rates, Bloomberg’s 5-year yield page has been a useful tool for mortgage observers. That is, until today.
Apparently, the company feels it will earn more by keeping this data proprietary to its $1,500+ per month data terminal service.
Fortunately, for you bond watchers in the crowd, there are other providers of free yield data, including:
CanDeal (intraday yield quotes)
- Investing.com (5-year yield charts)
- PC Bond (Canadian yield curve)
- Bank of Canada (historical yield data)
If anyone knows of better online bond sources, feel free to share them in the comments section.

Bloomberg also pulled the plug on CDOR and 3M OIS Swap about six months ago. Let’s face it, our government is a control freak on data disclosure.
You can also get daily quotes here along with many other useful rates. http://www.pfin.ca/canadianfixedincome/Default.aspx
Hey Rob,
Thanks for the links. I’ve been searching forever for good GOC charts and Investing.com’s are the best I’ve seen.
